I’ve never surfed. But it is inspiring to watch, and I will never cease to wonder at the motivations of surfers who brave the cold, dangerous currents, sharks, debris, and the all powerful wall of water to enjoy the thrill of catching the perfect wave. This weekend, the world-famous Mavericks surf competition off the shore of Half Moon Bay, California begins. Incredible waves, incredible danger, incredible passion. A nice little bit of Muir Woods in San Francisco - nestled along the west side of the the Transamerica building is this little park with its nicely sized redwoods, and in the afternoon, when the sun is on the west side of the pyramid the shade is perfect, you get a little bit of peace and cool quiet in the middle of the bustling Financial District.

One ID to log into everything on the web…that will be cool (someday). And, if we could only get someone like Yahoo! or another big portal to embrace it, well, the battle might be over.
